RIP Jerry Finn

Legendary producer Jerry Finn (Blink 182, Morrissey, Green Day, Rancid) has been taken off life support. Finn suffered a brain hemorrhage last month.

It's sad to see someone go at a young age who had a lot of talent their line of work and for that to make him a house hold name in certain music circles. When i finally started looking at the producers names on the back of the cd's and seeing producers names dropped in issues of guitar world i noticed that in the punk circle that Jerry Finn was the person to go to, the more and more i got into music the more i started wondering how certain albums by bands i like would have sounded with certain producers under the helm. Most of the time Jerry Finn popped up in my head because of how the records that he made sounded, then as i read interviews from AFI and Green Day i learned his habits and some stories about how he went about getting a certain guitar tone on a song or album. I being the nerd that i am found that cool and just tried to learn from it and take it as a bit of knowledge for myself and possibly share it with other people who share the same interest in that side of music.

here is a link to a list of work that he's done over the years.
here are some of my favorite records that he has done:
Sparta - Wiretap Scars
AFI - Sing The Sorrow
Blink 182 - Blink 182
Fenix Tx - Lechuza
Green Day - Dookie
The Living End - The Living End
Bad Religion - The Process of Belief
AFI - Decemberunderground

he will be greatly missed, RIP Jerry Finn 1970-2008.
